Colin Williams OBE
Chief Executive Officer
Colin spent 22 years with ActionAid, setting up country programmes in Somalia, Uganda (where he was part of the successful early response to HIV & AIDS) and Malawi, then becoming Africa Region Director. He was awarded an OBE for services to fighting poverty in Africa in 2002. Colin helped set up Egmont in 2005. He is based in Zambia where he is supported by a number of individuals with extensive networks across the region. BA, Economics, Sheffield University; MA, Carleton University, Ottawa.
Nomuhle joined Egmont in 2016 to manage and oversee Egmont’s relationships with our expanding portfolio of partners. Hailing from Zimbabwe, where she will be based, Nomuhle brings extensive professional and local experience to the post. Previously, Nomuhle was Country Director for Zimbabwe at Restless Development, and Programme Manager at the BOOST Fellowship. MSc, International Relations, University of Zimbabwe.
Head of Fundraising & Communications
Sophie joined Egmont in 2013 to help develop Egmont’s fundraising capacity. She has extensive experience in the charitable sector, including as Head of Development at the Almeida Theatre and as Development Director for the Prince’s Foundation for Children & the Arts. BA (Joint Hons), Bristol University.
Jane joined the Egmont Trust in December 2009. For more than 20 years Jane worked in a variety of key operational roles for Barclays Bank plc. In 2003, she joined the Wales Environment Trust as the Project Finance Officer.
Louise joined Egmont in August 2017. Previously, Louise worked for Bridgend Council, Tros Gynnal and University of South Wales and brings over 17 years' financial management experience in the charitable and public sector to the Egmont team.
Programme & Communications Officer
Jake joined Egmont in 2014, bringing experience in design and communications. His most recent position was as Co-ordinator for Refugee Week Wales for the Welsh Refugee Council. BA (Joint Hons) Sussex University.
Jane joined the Trust in 2015 to assist the Finance Manager with financial administration and programme contract management. Having previously worked for Cardiff Council, RK Aggarwal Ltd & General Electric, Jane brings over 20 years of experience in finance and administration roles to her new position at Egmont.
Aisha joined Egmont in 2017 to assist the Programme Manager with the grant process and database management. She has worked in the advice and charity sector for four years as an Energy Adviser. In 2015, she was recognised by the parliamentary National Energy Action Group for the impact she made helping vulnerable households in fuel poverty in the UK. BA, Leeds University.
