Ndola Nutrition Organisation
Improving access to quality care for young people with HIV and supporting HIV-affected families with tools for long-term food and economic security.
Ndola Nutrition Organisation's Egmont-supported project is working in the rural and peri-urban areas of Masaiti, Luanshya and Ndola Districts of central Zambia to strengthen HIV care and support services for 741 young people living with HIV and address stigma.
The project is also supporting 751 households affected by HIV to increase their nutrition, food and economic security through training for household heads in sustainable crop production, post harvest handling and access to village savings groups. These savings groups will also provide a platform for participants to discuss and address issues such as early marriage and other cultural norms which undermine women and girls' access to education, healthcare and economic opportunities.
Additionally, the project will also support 210 HIV positive or affected children with nutritional packages to boost their weight and immune systems.
