How to apply
Please contact us to ensure that you have the most up-to-date proposal guidelines, as these are revised regularly. We can then advise you of the relevant deadline for submission, depending on the size of grant for which you wish to apply.
Note that we currently accept applications only from organisations based in Kenya, Malawi, Mozambique, Tanzania, Zambia and Zimbabwe. Preference will be given to locally driven, non-governmental initiatives.
Egmont currently operates two grant-making schemes. Proposals may address any aspect of the HIV&AIDS response, but must demonstrate a clear impact on the lives of children and young people within the timeframe of the project. Our main grants programme awards a maximum of £20,000 to projects lasting between 12 and 24 months.
Our small grants programme, offering a maximum of £5,000, supports events or initiatives which are innovative or experimental, contribute to learning or good practice, or can significantly improve the quality and/or coverage of local level work with a small input of resources.
We also develop longer-term strategic relationships with selected partners based on evidence of their ability to achieve successful results.
Our funding comes primarily from the investment sector in the City of London. Egmont's staff and Trustees combine a strong track record in HIV&AIDS work and longstanding networks in Africa with expertise in financial services.
